Participatory Action Research in the Field

Earlier this year, along with colleagues from the School of Media, Culture & Society at UWS, I led the delivery of a doctoral training course on participatory action research for social sciences and arts and humanities students from across Scotland. The course was designed to be interactive, learning from doctoral students undertaking PAR-related work and from academic colleagues at UWS from across the social science and arts and humanities’ fields. In developing the course, we also produced an online resource to support students beyond the 2.5 day course. You can access these resources, below. Participatory Action Research in the Field This course was really enjoyable to deliver, bringing together staff and students in the School of Media, Culture & Society, and beyond. Here’s a short film that summarises what tutors and participants got from their experience over the 3 days.

Finally, here’s a Wakelet that provides a quirky social media summary of what we got up to in, and outside of, the classroom.
